Community Relations

 Description: Assists with day to day activities within department including: planning, organizing and execution of teams training camp, responsible for teams community group involvements, handle team requests via phone, e-mail, fax and/or mail, compose press releases and feature stories, maintain databases for appearances and donation requests and coordinate player/staff / dance team appearances on behalf of team.

 

Requirements:  Excellent communications skills required. Prior experience in sports management / community relations / customer service is a plus.

 

Duration / Hours: Seasonal - Yearly

Sponsor Services

Description: The Sponsor Services Intern is responsible for assisting with all day to day activities within the sponsor services department. The intern must be highly motivated and eager to assist with all duties related to servicing and executing the contractual details for corporate partners. The candidate must have outstanding relationship and organizational skills and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. A high proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Photoshop is required.

 

Requirements: The ideal candidate must be a dynamic, out-going, self-motivated individual with experience in customer service and/or working with a sports team or agency. It is critical that the individual have strong organizational skills and be a team player. Organization, analytical skills, customer focus, drives for results, effective communication and passion for sports.

 

Duration / Hours: Seasonal – Yearly

Game Day/ Training Camp

Description: Assists with team game day and training camps operations including: set-up/break down, meet and greet clients/guests, ensure fan fun, promote and solicit sign-ups for team and fan activities.

 

Requirements: , communications, marketing or related field.

Digital Media

Description: The Digital Media intern will assist in the day to day operations of the Riders and coordinating new media technologies.

 

Requirements: Experience with New Media, Interactive Marketing or related field. Highly collaborative. Proficiency in HTML coding, basic content management platforms, Microsoft Office and Photoshop. Internet-related skills (Java, Flash, etc.) a plus; excellent writing, communication, attention to detail and proof reading skills; design a plus. 

 

Duration / Hours: Yearly

Public Relations

Description: Assists with league/team day-to-day operations of department, including: general PR staff support, daily news clips execution, interview facilitation, statistical research, website assistance, compose press releases and stories related to team, serve as media conduits and provide administrative duties such as answering phones and mail.

 

Requirements: Experience in public relations, journalism or related field,. Prior experience in sports communication, sports info or journalism, with superior written and verbal communication skills a plus. Must provide at least 2 writing samples with cover letter and resume.

 

Duration / Hours: Seasonal

Football Video Operations

Description: Assists with all day to day activities associated within department including: game tape digitizing and logging, DVD production and duplication, preparing game day video for league office and tape management.

 

Requirements: Familiarity with the game of football and the knowledge of video operations (including cameras and editors) either obtained through college or on-the-job training. Good attention to detail, timeliness, and impeccable trustworthiness.
